Hailsham & district Twinning Association
A well established Twinning Association for Hailsham area and Gournay en Bray, France (situated 1 hr from Dieppe and only 2 hrs from Calais). The original Twinning Charter was signed in Hailsham in October 2000 and was officially renewed in October 2011. We are self funding and raise our funds through our many social events. Every year we arrange 3 or 4 trips for large or small groups to visit our twinned town in France. These trips include sightseeing, carnivals, music festivals, choral events, sporting events and other events. In Hailsham we have a very active social side to our group. We hold monthly social events which include treasure hunts, cream teas, quizzes, beetle drives, musical events and cycling groups. We have our own French Language groups – beginners, conversation and intermediate (all reasonably priced).
Our members have the opportunity to host. Many long lasting friendships have been made from hosting on both sides of the Channel. Of course, members who are unable to host are welcome too.
It costs only £10 per person per year and £40 for groups.
