Erica Steenkamp
OriginalIy from South Africa, Erica was born in Worcester, a smaII town in the wine growing area not far from SteIIenbosch. Her earIiest memories of music revoIved around the communaI experience of singing in church, Iistening to the choir and the rich harmonies they evoked. We heard Erica sing a couple of years ago with her partner, Christopher Newland at a house concert in Penge, close to where she used to run a community café, coincidentally called Blue Belle Café. Erica performs her own songs with a soothing and gentle singing voice and style – a hint of Suzanne Vega and Anna Egge. Erica and Chris collaborate to find the perfect route and balance for accompaniment for Erica’s songs but, sadly, Chris may be unable to join Erica on this occasion as he is recovering after suffering a stroke when in Capetown at the end of 2024, so Erica will probably be performing solo.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:
• PLEASE be in your seats by 6.15
• This is a Pass The Hat event. In other words – there isn’t a ticket price, but we do expect a generous donation. We suggest a donation of £12 per person. Having said that, to avoid our events becoming elitist, our ethos has always been ‘pay what you can afford’. Please bring cash on the night.
• There will be delicious homemade food available to buy @£12.50 per person from Philippa on the night. Please bring card or cash. (Please make sure you give us food preferences for each guest), or you can bring your own snacks.
• Space is limited and when seats are booked, sadly we simply cannot squeeze more people in. Limited to 4 seats per order.
• BRING YOUR OWN DRINK – THERE IS NO BAR! (PLEASE TAKE HOME YOUR EMPTIES)
• You might also like to bring your own glasses, plates and cutlery so that nobody is having to wash up 30-60 settings when we’re done!

• The venue is bigger – we’ll need more people to make the atmosphere cosy like the kitchen, so we’d love you to bring some friends
• We will also hold the Unusual Raffle
