TREE PLANTING CEREMONY

November 27, 2022 @ 3:30 pm

Free

Holy Trinity Church, Cold Harbour Road, Dicker, has a U Eco-Garden Project.
The climate is changing, as we have all witnessed, with summer heatwaves and warmer, wetter winters. Many of us are now taking a greater interest in the natural world around us, spurred on by a pause in workaday life caused by the Covid-19 lockdowns when the roads went quiet and we began to walk in the countryside more.
The climate crisis affects us all but we can all do our bit to help the natural world to adapt to it. Every garden, meadow and public space can be transformed by creating more space for nature to rewild the land, or with thoughtful and appropriate planting which will contribute to the sustainability of endangered biodiversity which supports life on earth.
Holy Trinity Church, Cold Harbour Road, Upper Dicker, Hailsham is undertaking an eco-garden project to encourage biodiversity by rewilding areas of the churchyard and planting perennial food trees and bushes to provide free healthy food for those who wish to forage. The project will create beautiful, sensory places for spiritual contemplation for all. On Advent Sunday, 27 November at 3.30pm, go along to the church garden for a Tree Planting Ceremony to celebrate the start of this lovely church eco-garden project. You will be part of creating something really special and important for the future and you will meet new, like-minded people in your community.
