Celebrate all things Sussex this summer with a special celebration of food, heritage and pastimes with Sussex Day at Michelham Priory House & Gardens.

The seven-acre private medieval island will be packed with activities relating to the history of our beautiful county as part of a special day-long event.

Taste artisan food from local producers. Discover more about local wildlife. And experience local traditions and games.

The day will include live Birds of Prey demonstrations from Hawking About with owls, falcons and hawks expected to fly in the skies surrounding the site.

Plus, a visit will allow you to explore the tranquil grounds of Michelham Priory, which have formed a part of the Sussex landscape since the early 13th Century.

About Michelham Priory

From its foundation as a priory through to the Tudors, Victorians and World War Two, Michelham Priory has a fascinating 800 years of history to explore.

Visitors will be able to explore this history with guided tours during the day of the grounds and the house

Free coach and car parking on site.

Opening times are 10.30am to 5.30pm with last admission 30 minutes before closing.

Booking tickets

Admission is £13 for adults, £12 for seniors and children aged 5 to 17 cost £6.50. Under 5s go free.

Those who chose to Gift Aid their admission are entitled to 12 months free entry from the date of visit.

Members of The Sussex Archaeological Society and the Friends of Michelham Priory enter for free.

Facilities

Please note: the on-site cafe will be closed but food and drink will be available at pop-up outlets on-site during the day.

Drinks, snacks and pre-packed cakes will also be available from the on-site shop. Visitors can bring picnics to enjoy in the grounds.

The playground and adjoining picnic area is open for those with younger visitors.
