Spend 3 hours combining techniques and mediums to build layers to create your own mixed media art piece onto 250/300gsm paper or recycled cardboard. Alternatively, you can bring your own journal along to use in the session if you’d prefer to.
Break the blank substrate (page) with collage, and/or texturizing with gesso before adding colour using acrylics and/or spray inks. Explore interesting mark making and stamping on tissue papers, adding contrasting or tonal colour with stencils and sponges, adding finer details using rubber stamps, grunge paste, embossing, hand/machine stitching and gilding.
The varied options offered allow each visit to the workshop a different experience, for you, with a bespoke outcome for all each time. This makes the session not only suitable for gaining more knowledge but building confidence in finding your own style within mixed media.
It is helpful to come with a bit of an idea in mind of what you would like to have as your theme/focal point on your page…eg. animals / botanicals / hearts / words / abstract / birds / sea life etc.
All materials are included and techniques are fully demonstrated. All abilities are very welcome including absolute beginners as no experience is necessary.
This is a half day workshop that has been extended to 3 hours due to popular demand. Tea and/or coffee is provided.
This workshop is an adults session for ages from 17 years up…Please wear old clothes as printing, painting and gluing can be messy. Aprons are provided; naturally you can bring your own if you’d prefer.
If you wish to book all six spaces at once please email me for a 15% discount code before booking. No discount can be applied after a booking has been made. If the workshop does not fall on a day that is convenient to you, please do get in touch and I will try to schedule a different day for a following month. I generally work 6-8 weeks in advance with setting dates.
I look forward to working alongside you in the workshop,
