The Herstmonceux Parish Trail starting at BN27 4JF will include 7 gardens to view in the parish including the historic windmill and allotments. In Cowbeech there are three gardens: Cowbeech House, a place to linger with an exciting range of water features and sculpture in the garden dating back to 1731, vintage car collection on site to view, Merrie Harriers Barn is a garden with sweeping lawn and open countryside, colourful herbaceous planting and a large pond with places to sit and enjoy the view. Kerpses is a delightful mixture of mature trees, shrubs, herbaceous borders, vegetable garden, ponds and a meadow. In Stunts Green, The Allotments comprise 54 allotments growing a huge variety of traditional and unusual crops. Nearby is The Elms, a working florist’s cutting garden. In Herstmonceux, Hill House has abundant roses, trees, shrubs and varied perennials, a greenhouse, and a wildlife pond with water lilies. Plenty of seating areas to sit and reflect and have tea. The historic Windmill is well worth a visit and where you can enjoy a BBQ lunch or tea. One payment of £7 for all the gardens. Children free.
