Those living in or close to Hailsham are invited to an early morning gathering on the Cuckoo Trail to listen for spring birds.
Before most of the runners, cyclists and dog-walkers are out, the popular pathway through Hailsham is a good place to hear and see birds. There’s a particularly productive spot, not far from the centre of town, which is home a wealth of species thanks to the mix of trees.
We’ll listen out for Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Treecreeper, Goldcrest, Nuthatch, Song Thrush, Stock Dove, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Long-tailed Tit and more.
The trail here is suitable for wheelchair users and those with lower mobility.
We’ll meet at 6am in central Hailsham, with the final location to be confirmed to attendees via email.
