A Baroque Music Day featuring both All Saints, (Church Rd, Herstmonceux, Hailsham BN27 1QJ) and St Mary Magdalene, (Wartling Rd, Horsewalk, Wartling, Hailsham BN27 1RY) churches in, and with music by International Musicians who regularly play at Glyndebourne and in concert halls around the world: Neil McLaren – flute, Julia Bishop – violin, Catherine Rimer – Cello and Howard Moody – Harpsichord.
The day starts with a coffee concert in St Mary Magdalene Church, Wartling listening to Bach and Telemann. The concert starts at 10.30am and tickets on the door are £10.
The day continues with a Picnic and Recital at All Saints Church, Herstmonceux. This concert will feature a recreation of a concert that would have taken place at the Court of King Frederick the Great, featuring the famous Trio Sonata from the Musical Offering presented to the flute playing King by Bach in 1747. There will be a long interval (1 hour) to allow you to enjoy a picnic (please bring your own) in the grounds of this lovely church looking over the Pevensey Levels. Wine and soft drinks will be available and a limited number of tables and chairs so you might want to bring your own.
The evening starts at 5.30pm and tickets are £15.
